Here's to hoping Kubo will rock the Academy Awards tomorrow night and win the awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Visual Effects! While it'll be great to see this movie get the recognition it (and Laika) deserves, make no mistake - Kubo will go down as one of the greatest and most revered stop-motion animation movies in history. If you've seen lead animator Kevin Parry's posts and photographer Steven Wong's behind-the-scenes content on Instagram, you'll know HOW MUCH work has been put into this movie - the puppets, the effects, the costumes, EVERYTHING. And for that, it deserves a lot of credit for how it has contributed to the genre, whether it wins Sunday or not. 100% percent.
